Name origin[]
The Old Norse place name Vígríðr (modernly anglicized as Vigrid, Vigrith, or Wigrid) means "battle-surge" or "place on which battle surges". it is a large field foretold to host a battle between the forces of the gods and the forces of Surtr as part of the events of Ragnarök.
