Sevenhex Forest is a Raid Event scheduled to start on June 1, 2024 at 8:00 PM (PST/PDT) and end on June 7, 2024 at 7:59 PM (PST/PDT). It is the one hundred ninety seventh episode of the Dark Stigma story and ninety ninth in the Malice Canon storyline.
Half-time Reward Calculation Period is at June 3, 2024 from 8:00 PM to 8:59 PM (PST/PDT).

Prologue[]
In the north region of Ibras, there was a forest teeming with demonic monsters. Most nations of similarly small size would make use of the entire domain, but this was left untouched -- a strange decision even in light of the fact no creature ever emerged. Searching the kingdom's archives did not reveal any allusion to it either. Most seemed to completely ignore it... save for a few.
Three elderly men still lived with the fearsome truth about its history, unable to forget no matter how badly they wanted to do so. Their modest houses were arranged in a triangle around the ominous woods. They rarely interacted with each other or outsiders except to share provisions.
By the time you were involved in the matter, two of them had already perished. The third man named Kinor approached while you were traveling through the kingdom. His face pale with fright, he asked you to kill someone.
"If she is not stopped, the fiends will escape..." Kinor thought nothing unusual of the first death. Biddaur, as the oldest of the trio, had merely passed away in his sleep. He even wore a peaceful look as if finally relieved of his heavy burden, and you did not miss the faint jealousy in Kinor's voice. Signs of crisis only appeared three days later with the second death, Kadate's. Kinor discovered his corpse mercilessly lacerated and drained of blood in the middle of a disheveled room.
You asked if the local authorities had been informed of this, since it was clearly not the work of a normal person. Salvador added that if monsters truly were responsible, Ibras was home to a famed academy for exorcists and other hunters of supernatural beings that should handle the situation with ease. However, Kinor shook his head.
"If I mention Sevenhex Forest, they'll not only raze the entire forest, they'll kill all of us. The kingdom wants to keep its ugly past buried. That's why someone has to kill that terrible woman first."
Kadate's murderer would strike again. The note that he wrote before dying, clutched in his withered hand, was proof. "The seven have returned as one."
Epilogue[]
Kinor feared for his life ever since seeing Kadate's note. According to him, the 'seven' it mentioned were the forgotten victims of the kingdom's greatest atrocity in history.
They had been dispatched to the monster-infested forest by the king. However, he intended for them not to eradicate its denizens but to be sacrifices in a sealing spell. When people asked about the exorcists' fate, the king falsely declared them covert witches and forbade further discussion.
The ones who cast that spell were the three elderly men in their youth. The triangle formed by their houses' placement as well as their near-constant presence was meant to preserve the boundary. Judging by the circumstances around Kadate's murder, Biddaur's death seemingly weakened the seal enough for the women's remnants, combined into a single entity by hatred, to push through it, attack Kadate, and hunt Kinor.
"My name is Izalafa. The remains of the seven sacrifices gave me form, and their grudge gave me life." Once Kinor was eliminated, she would likely direct her vengeance upon the entire kingdom...

The intense battle came to a close. You looked upon the scattered body of Izalafa. The vast majority of the monsters in the forest had also been slain, meaning the border was no longer needed. Although you prevented a greater tragedy from occurring, the seven pitiful souls were denied release. This victory was not one to relish.
Wanting to offer a modicum of condolence, you buried the carcass beneath a simple marker of long tree branches. Kinor then emerged from hiding to extend a handful of flowers and his prayers. Perhaps he felt a guilty gratitude in being saved. Perhaps he truly wished for the victims to find peace. In any case, he said nothing to that effect before parting ways.
Several days after leaving the kingdom, you overheard how Sevenhex Forest burned to the ground. Apparently, the grave marker was struck by lightning and the flowers left there fed the flame to fearsome strength. The lone fatality was an old man who lived nearby... but there was no means of ascertaining the truth.
You could only hope that fire cleansed the area of malice.
