Saera's unflagging will was driven by the desire to overcome the shameful failures of her father and affirm her superiority amongst the ruling cabal. She believed that fate sided with her as she had been taught an ancient incantation to summon Kaiserin, the Scarlet Legend of millennia past, from a nobleman known as the Platinum Viscount. His purpose was unclear, but she was assured of her success, for she was one of Kaiserin's descendants.
