Giliola remembered little about the boy who cared for her. She possessed a strange kind of magic that forced her to expend her memories as mana. Each time she was required to fight, she once again forgot all but the boy's name, Cedric. Though even as her memories disappeared, her faith in the young man never wavered. For whenever he was by her side, Giliola found that same feeling of comfort washing over her once more.

Giliola is an Italian feminine name. Probably a variant form of Gigliola, a feminine derivative of Giglio, which was either from Italian giglio "lily" (Latin lilium), "a plant considered to symbolize the qualities of candor and purity", or else an Italian form of Latin Aegidius (from Greek aigidion meaning "young goat"), original Latin form of modern English Giles.
Oblīviō translates from Latin as "forgetfulness, oblivion, obliviousness". The noun derived from verb oblīvīscor "forget": the conjunction of prefix ob "over" with līvor, līveō "to become dark", hence, to have the mind darkened, forget; to forget.
