Sounds like an interesting idea. I'd be fine with including this wiki. I am curious to know how it would look once placed on an actual wiki though. Is there like an example wiki somewhere that already has the gaming footer in place already? Or has this thing not gone live just yet?
It isn't live yet - the plan is to roll them out at the end of the month. But the background of the footers are transparent, meaning they'll match whatever site they're placed on; and the link color is inherited from the site as well ;)
There's not much to say about myself. Like my profile says, I'm a college student, I watch football, I'm interested in anime/manga, and waste time on video games or things like this wiki.
In terms of things related to LOC, I happen to favor Odyssey and Battle Royale events. In terms of cards, I like monster cards (Flaming Werewolf) and cool looking dudes (Alfred) more than the chicks of this game. That being said, I do hope to one day be the prowd owner of New Barbara. Hopefully that doesn't take a hundred years.
I know what you mean. I like the cool art in the game, my favorite being Geryon. It took me forever to get one. When i first started trying to get one, it cost 120 fresh. Now its over 600. The whole time i was trying to get one, the price rose and rose. This market really sucks. I wound up getting a loan from Congo1 so that i could catch a good deal at the low price of 415.
The market obviously isn't great for buyers. I remember back when a PM Wolf was 500. Now, I can only wish I can buy one for that kind of price. Makes me wish I hadn't sold it (though it did result in me getting a Dragonslayer).
Hopefully prices come back down to normal levels of sanity sometime in the future.
Since prices seem to be somewhat stable now (they're aren't doubling every other week), this may be a sign that the market is returning to something more reasonable. I could be wrong, but it looks like prices have hit their peek for the most part.
Fixed. Thanks for letting me know. I know some people get confused about the exact procedure for making new card pages, and the templates have a bit of a bug in them that creates an empty link in the question mark.
And yeah, 300 for a rare is pretty hefty. Too bad even that won't get you many Ultra Rares these days (outside of backline cards). I remember back when JoL used to be worth around 100, so the price has tripled over the last few months.
Great. I'll give you admin status right away. Thanks again for volunteering your time.
Do you need any help regarding admin tools/functions? If you do, the Admin how-to guide is a decent resource to reference. If there are any specific features you need info on, let me know.
Also, if you're looking for an area of the wiki to focus on specifically, you could help add in some of the common cards that haven't already been added yet. In particular, we're still missing some of the ones in the Card Gallery (iOS).
Creating categories is a little different from regular pages, and requires a more roundabout approach. What you do is go to the page you want to categorize, press the "Add category" button at the bottom, manually type out the name of the new category, and press enter. This creates a new category page.
I know this approach is basically the same as adding existing categories, but that's basically how the software does it. Let me know if you still need help.
Well that's the best out of the blue trade I've ever seen, outside of users quitting. The best out of the blue trades I've ever received is people offering me junk cards for my Ultra Rares. Hence, why I now keep literally everything locked (outside of feeder cards).
It could also just be some kind Samaritan doing you a favor (unlikely, but always possible).
I drew an Irreverent Friedrich during lunch today. Already had 3 offers. The best of which being a Fresh Peg + 550pp. Then i had a PM C Drag +300 ed. And third, a PM Lady P + a fresh Retal Tink, which i denied immediately
The first sounds like a decent offer. I haven't been following Friedrich's price lately (I didn't even realize it was a card until now), but I would assume a reg would be worth around 1.5k since comparable power 16 cards are worth around 1k, and Friedrich gives a huge drop to defense.
Considering that Peg sells around 600-700, that makes the offer around 1150-1250, which seems somewhat low. But of course, I'm mostly just speculating here since I don't know Friedrich's price.
I pulled a pair of Faith-Commanding Esredia today. Pulled one, figured id reset the box and use the 100 gem card pack. Just my luck i pulled another. all with free gems from tapjoy of course. Do you have any clue of value. I have one trade for a pm fred sk7 and 18k mix. Would like to know value before i consider trading it(ill most likely keep it)
Wow, that's a pretty good pull. In terms of value, I'd say a fresh would be 20-30k maybe, although I'm not really an expert on prices. I'll try and get a second opinion for that trade. Also, is that trade for one reg Esredia or two?
So after doing a little digging, apparently a reg Esredia is 60k... Looks like you hit the jackpot with that draw! Regarding that trade, apparently a skill 10 Fred is like 30k. So if that trade is for both, it's pretty bad.
You're water right? I personally would just keep Esredia since frontline cards like her are hard to get back once you sell them (no one wants to give them up later). If you can get someone to really overypay though, than it might be worth flipping her and than buying her back later for a cheaper deal. Or if you really need depth, you could flip her for a bunch of lesser frontline cards like Gawain, Fred, Galatea, St.Valentine, and such (those are selling at around 30k for skill 10). It's your choice.
Good call I think. Her price will only shoot up as time goes by, making her very difficult to get later. Plus, once the card pack ends, almost no one is going to give her up easily since she's only the fourth 25% boost card for water.
Maybe you did some charity work and karma decided to reward you. Or maybe this is LOC's way of compensating for being such a buggy piece of crap. Either way good for you! I know others who seem to touch gold whenever they draw from a pack, and they barely spend anything at all.
Currently, I'm seeing Helg sell for 40-45k, so you should be able to get some decent offers for it. That being said though, it seems like water front line cards are greatly overpriced, so cards like HQM are likely out of reach. That being said though, I'm sure you can snag one or two somewhere (like some of the ones I mentioned above).
By the way, do you have Lucrece? If not, I would get her since she's probably the cheapest water frontline card out there (not sure on price though). Power 13 water musk is also good too, since it sells for like 2k or something. They're not good for colosseo though.
PM artesia is like 32-35k and PM dgod is like 10-12k, so that seems like a pretty good asking price.
You should also consider trading Helg for PM Fred, since Fred gives a 24% boost to water attack. PM Fred goes for around 40-50k, so it may be a little more than a reg Helg, but if you can get Fred for Helg straight up, I would do it. Just something to consider.
Some people are independent learners, others require a little guidance. Part of the point of this, is to help those who wish to learn but don't know where to start while also potentially creating friendships.
I know other wikis that have a similar thing in place (notably Fallout Wiki), and many there have not only become regular contributors, but also friends with their former mentors. This kind of thing can be a very good thing for morale in the community, both at this wiki as well as in the game.
I wasnt criticizing the idea for a start. O just dont think this wiki has as much of a need for it. Each card page, skill page, etc. follows a specific format where you just insert the info. However on the Fallout wiki, wh.ich i love as im a fallout addict, has a more complex page structure where each page has a relatively unique format and much much more information than our pages. I feel a mentorship program is necessary to understand how to edit that wiki. I just think we wont necessarily get a strong turnout. We'll only get one or two here and there
Obviously, Fallout wiki is quite a lot more complex than this site (and quite a lot bigger too), so a mentorship program is something that would probably be more needed there.
That being said, I do feel that while this site doesn't need such a program, it couldn't hurt to have one anyway. I didn't necessarily expect a high turnout, but I think if we can gain even one more experienced editor from this, it's still worthwhile in the end.
I just had a brilliant idea related to my previous post. It might help if we mentioned an available new user mentorship program in the message to new players. I think if they could see it there rather than seeing it when (if) they go to the new userpage
I actually did provide a link to the New User Center in the welcome messages for new users. It won't show for older messages, since it wasn't created back then, but for newer users like VoidIndigo, it does mention the Center. That being said, slipping in a mention of the Mentorship program in the welcome message is probably a good idea too. I'll go revise the message.
My birthday was last week so i decided to spend some itunes gift card $ on a card pack. Sure enough i wound up being ranked 30th by the time the rankings closed. So now im getting a floridge and 2x pwr14 or higher tickets
You did overpay a little bit, but it's not too far off. Personally, I don't mind overpaying for things if I want them badly enough. In the case of Bauduin however, since it just got re-released, its price is likely to come down a bit, so it is a little bit of bad timing for you. Bauduin is a good card though, so it should pick back up in value in a few months.
I've seen Fallout wiki's admin page before. Considered setting a page like that here, but decided on a simplified version using Wikia's default page as a base template, since we don't have that many staff here (even at the site's height, we paled in comparison). I should probably make a mention of reapplication process for inactive admins in our own page though.
I can offer some initial assistance for your new wiki, but I'm going to be busy for the next two weeks so I won't be able to do much hands on stuff until after. Just let me know what you need help with though, and I'll see what I can do.
I came across Metallica Wiki and thought that this would make a good model for your wiki's main page. The design is clean and simple, and while it could use some tweaking, it's a good starting point. What do you think?
Yeah, the game is definitely on the decline. You can tell, based on the latest Event ranking reward cutoffs (they used to give rewards for people up to 18,000 in rank, but now they only go up to 10,000). Problem is, a lot of the vets are leaving, and the game is still too difficult for newer users to get into. Plus, the servers are still just as crappy as before, which doesn't help.
I'd say they're purposely driving down the prices in the hopes of getting more new players to play. While veteran players may not like it, it's better for growth in the long term. The changes to Steam chaos are probably just another attempt at getting more good Ultra Rares in the hands of less fortunate players.
I know it was really helpful for me since i was finally able to get some decent cards to trade with that people actually want. I pulled an Iruen yesterday and traded it for a reg pwr18 Bauduin+pots. Now i just have to find another reg for less than 4k.
It is easier to get good cards nowadays. I'm seeing power 17 cards go for 100, and even good power 18 cards don't go for more than a few 1000. Makes me glad I saved up some pots last month. I am concerned about how this affects events though. Since good cards don't sell for that much, and ranking still requires the same effort as before, it means that unless you get the top reward, you're operating at a loss after events.
We're basically just doing it the same way, except we add an R at the end of the name. I don't believe the evolved versions need that, but if they do, we just add R. For an example, see Ishtar, War Maiden Scourge R.
Hi, I was wondering if its possible to downloads all the card galleries here or in-game at once. I tried one by one but its impossible. Also search in Google and couldnt find nothing. With the ones here I'm more than satisfied but all from the game would be superb.
All their images are stored on servers, so you'll need to download them one by one (though if you know where they are saved and the naming scheme for each image, you could get a bulk downloader to download multiple ones at once). And as for card galleries, there really isn't a way to get a fully completed one without putting it together yourself.
If you want to download off the wiki, the best method I can think of is to simply copy and paste links to images as you come across them here, and use use a bulk downloader to download all of your saved links at once. A good browser extension you may want to consider is "DownThemAll!" which allows you to selectively download images and other media on pages with the press of a button.
Maybe, although I haven't had the time to evolve it yet (part of it probably being also due to the fact that it's a water card, which is useless to me since I'm fire). I'll see if I can get the rest up, but I can't make any guarantees at this point.
Anyone can create a page. It's not actually that difficult once you get used to it. I've provided a handy tool on the front page in the section "Contributing", where you can simply enter the name of the card into one of the boxes, press create, and all the parameter fields will come up for you to fill in. Just make sure you enter the name in the correct box (the buttons tell you which is which), and you should be fine.
Someone has already created the page in question for you, by I do recommend that you try creating pages yourself in the future using the method I specified. If you still need some help doing so, let me know and I'll assist you wherever I can.
I believe the counter for the picture series of badges only updates when you add a picture to an article page. Simply uploading a picture doesn't count toward earning a badge. I'm not sure if the template adding an existing image counts either (the badges are pretty simple in their behaviour), although I believe it does count if a picture already exists and you create a page, with the template adding in the pic automatically.
Thats why i create a page and then i go back and i add a picture... strange, first 3 times went ok then stop... aaaaa i know what happen! last 3 pics i deleted the [[image: part before i add the picture and it didnt count them :/.
@Odelgard What you did isn't technically incorrect, but the method Malicent just detailed is the easier way. Feel free to create categories using either method, although I mostly use Malicent's method myself.
Hello, just uploaded new image for evolved version of minira. Sadly something goes wrong and im a bit confused about this editor (im not in home also). Could you look at this and edit it correctly? would be great :)
any idea why my notifications are busted? marked all as read/cleared cache and i still have a (1) unread. If you have a quick fix, would like to know, otherwise don't bother to looking into it as it's not that annoying.
The notifications have been a little slow to react lately. It eventually clears, but takes a bit of time.
By Jere, you mean JeremiahSyn right? Regardless, it's fine if jere/acnotalpha are quitting. I'm sure they had their reasons, and everyone eventually moves on anyhow. Since Acnotalpha was an admin, unless he tells me personally, his account will still have it's admin rights intact for up to nine months, after which his admin rights will be removed, as per LOC wiki policy.
