After defeating the cursed beast as requested, the miasma from its corpse seeped out and corrupted all it touched. Gladys' mind raced to devise some method of removing the effects, yet it was already too late.

Gladys or Gladice is a Welsh and English feminine name from the Old Welsh name Gwladus or Gwladys, which means "princess; country" or the gladiolus flower. Could be derived from gwledig "ruler, princess" or gwlad "country". It has been sometimes used as a Welsh form of Claudia (from Latin claudus meaning "lame, crippled, limping").
