Wallenstein knew that the simplest yet mightiest strength in the world lay in numbers. No other force could even compare in the face of sheer profusion. His vast legion numbered in the hundreds of thousands. Any foe they faced suffered inevitable defeat, engulfed and trampled.

Albrecht von Wallenstein was a military leader and major figure during the Thirty Years' War (1618–48).
