Julian had eaten the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge and the Tree of Life, obtaining omniscience and immortality. He had become god-like, ascending beyond the existence of mere humans and even of the angels. Though he had disobeyed the gods, he no longer felt guilt for his actions nor fear of their consequences. Rather, he felt elation at gaining such almighty power.
