Imprisoned Hyriel

Hundreds of years ago, Hyriel was imprisoned in the Skybound Temple built to transport a host of misbegotten fiends to the far reaches of sky. Since the temple's original creation, only she had survived the ravages of time, allowing her to reform the temple to suit her own purposes. She began to use its power to send pleas down to the ground, each day calling to anyone who might hear, "Someone, save me from this isolation."

Name originEdit

Hyriel is probably combined from the element hyr and suffix -el meaning "god" in Hebrew (originally el is a Northwest Semitic word meaning "deity"), in which most angel names end. Hyr is possibly an Icelandic poetic term for "fire" or Cornish word for "long".
