Fire was his loyal servant. Whenever Idos' temper flared, volcanoes would rumble and spew blazing plumes as flames erupted from fissures in the earth. Only when Idos slumbered would the conflagrations subside. With fire as his only companion, he could be considered a lonely man. But to him, the Pyromaster, other life forms were pitiful creatures - mere kindling for his bellowed flames to consume.

From Portuguese idos translates as "ides", a day in the Roman calendar that marked the approximate middle of the month.
