Lore[]
Ida transcended worlds, stars, even galaxies, yet she remained here on Neotellus. She did not understand why, but she could feel the planet calling to her. A millennium was but a blink of the eye to Ida, who worked with the keepers of the World Soul to keep watch over Neotellus. She continued to make contact with all of the planet’s creatures -- men, demons, gods -- as she had been doing for eons.

Name origin[]
Ida is a female name occurring independently in several cultures. Could derived from a Germanic word id, meaning "labor, work." Alternately, it may be related to the name of the Old Norse goddess Iðunn, where Old Norse ið meaning "deed" or "action'. The name also occurs as an anglicisation of the Irish girl's given name Íde. It is also possible it is derived from the Greek mythology since Ida or Ide, the nymph of Mount Ida, is one of the nurses of god Zeus.
Ida is also a genus of flowering plants in the orchidaceae family. It consists of approximately 35 species.
