Name Origin[]
In Norse Mythology, Gróa is the name of a shamanic seeress that appears in several stories. She is wife to Auravandil the Bold. In one story, she is tasked by Thor to take out shards of a whetstone left in his forehead after his battle with Hrungnir, a jotunn. But she became distracted in her work due to the news of her lost husband finding himself home, as told by Thor, and the shards became permanently embedded in the thunder god's forehead.
