Gold Princess Cleopatra

When the emperor unwrapped the magnificent fabric and set eyes upon his delivery from the distant desert land, he was left utterly breathless. It was a woman, of unbelievable beauty. Long, glossy black hair, sparkling eyes that revealed her intelligence, and simply so overflowing with charm and allure that no words could possibly do her justice. It was the Queen of the Desert, Cleopatra. "The contents of this package are humbly presented to His Imperial Majesty. Please graciously accept this gift, as symbol of our cooperation." A diplomatic gesture to be sure, but the emperor required little persuasion to accept the package...

Name originEdit

Cleopatra VII Philopator (Greek: Κλεοπάτρα Φιλοπάτωρ; 69 – August 12, 30 BC), known to history simply as Cleopatra, was the last active pharaoh of Ancient Egypt. She was a member of the Ptolemaic dynasty, a family of Macedonian Greek origin that ruled Egypt after Alexander the Great's death during the Hellenistic period. As pharaoh, she consummated a liaison with Julius Caesar that solidified her grip on the throne. To this day, Cleopatra remains a popular figure in Western culture, her legacy survives in numerous works of art and the many dramatizations of her story in literature and other media.

The name Cleopatra is derived from the Greek name Κλεοπάτρα (Kleopatra) which meant "she who comes from glorious father" or "glory of the father" in the feminine form, derived from κλέος (kleos) "glory" combined with πατήρ (pater) "father" (the masculine form would be Kleopatros (Κλεόπατρος)).
