Brasse held many obligations as heir to the throne, yet he rejected the notion that birth should decide one's fate and longed to traverse the skies. Long ago, his ancestors departed for distant lands aboard an airship, and Brasse hoped to follow in their wake. He would watch the sunrise from the balcony of his castle, dreaming of becoming a wind-loving traveler, soaring through the endless blue firmament.

Brasse is a Swedish pet form of Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish masculine name Lasse "crowned with laurel". Lasse is a variant of English Laurence and also often a nickname for people named Lars. Derived from the Roman cognomen Laurentius, from Latin root word laurus "laurel".
