The prince was a very kind person. However, the rose could not seem to understand why. Whenever they looked towards the starry skies together, she could feel her heart race. Yet again, she could not understand why. "You're so gentle to me because I'm so beautiful!" Such thoughts made the rose arrogant, and the prince ceased to smile. As ever, the rose could not understand why.

The (Little) Rose is one of the characters in the novella Le Petit Prince (The Little Prince) by French aristocrat, writer, poet and pioneering aviator Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.
