Aurélien jumped in surprise. Until just the other day, the area around the "Cursed Kingdom" had been surrounded by thick groves of trees... But the once lush, green land had rapidly turned into desert. Aurélien immediately realized that this phenomenon had to be part of the divine punishment sent down by the gods. At this rate, the kingdom would be covered in sand and the people would fall into poverty. Surely this was the gods' plan. But when Aurélien thought about all the trees that had been sacrificed to implement this plan, he could not bring himself to believe that the gods' actions had been just.
