Kajsa, close aide to Kåre, decided to remain at the castle when Kåre left to search for the Chronowork. She simply could not help feeling deeply depressed at her powerlessness in helping her lord regain confidence. However, after a short bout of languishing in the castle, she strengthened her resolve. Kåre had granted her the power to manipulate death pulses, so she felt that she must somehow repay his favor. Kajsa joined the hunt for the legendary time creature.
