The pen was mightier than the sword; the influence of written text could bring about radical change in the world, for better or worse. Words containing strong emotion granted mere scraps of paper incredible power, so much so that they would morph into savage monsters if left alone. To prevent such occurrences, they were drawn to a sacred archive where I would catalog them into the Grand Compendium.
