The oracles of the land must never show themselves. Instead, Delphoi controls the fates of kingdoms from deep underground, using his precious shrine maidens to do his bidding. The gods are fickle, the oracle informs the people, and "they" request expensive offerings. In such instances, he is all too willing to perform his duty as speaker.
