There was an island in the extreme eastern end of the world, peaceful and prosperous... until the invasion of Yakushana and her oni. With ruthlessness rivaled only by their hunger, they devoured all of the inhabitants as they demolished their handiwork. It was sheer fortune that the Momo-no-Sei trapped the oni behind a mystic barrier, holding their barbarous ways in check before they could proceed to the mainland.
