The number of card slots that one player has in the game depends on several factors.
New Card Slot Limits
As of xx september 2012 (?), the number of card slots only depend on the level of the player, as stated in the table below.

Before xx september 2012 (?), the number of cards to be held was depending on the number of cards in one player's gallery.

Carry Over
Players having increased their nb of card slot before the change of criteria are able to keep their higher number of card slots. Regarding future upgrades to their slots, it is not known yet how the game would handle it.
