Black-horned Behemoth

Lore[]

The behemoths dwelled in a crimson forest concealed from mortal eyes by the spirits of the departed. Human arms were attached to their monstrous bodies, perhaps the result of some cruel joke by the gods. Yet whether alone or in packs, these arms did not hinder the behemoths in the least. For they preferred nothing more than to nap languidly in the tranquil forest, and their peculiar arms were of no consequence.

Name origin[]

Behemoth is a beast mentioned in Job 40:15–24. Suggested identities range from a mythological creature to an elephant, hippopotamus, rhinoceros or crocodile. Some creationists believe it to be a description of a sauropod due to its tail being described as like a cedar tree. Metaphorically, the name has come to be used for any extremely large or powerful entity.
