Birc was an infantryman of the Iron Barrier, an armored outfit positioned within a mountain pass. Their purpose was largely defensive, protecting allies from charging horses and arrow bombardment, only counterattacking when the opportunity presented itself. No matter if his shield was damaged, he would not yield. A true wall did not relent until it had been completely destroyed.
