Lore[]
Though one of the fallen, Balha retained her faith in the gods. Yet to her kin, they were and had always been antagonists whose rule was to be spurned. Regardless, no threat of injury, no matter how gruesome, could sway Balha. She believed though they had once been forsaken, repentance was always available to those who sought it.

Name origin[]
Penance is repentance of sins in religion. The word penance derives from Old French and Latin poenitentia, both of which derive from the same root meaning repentance, the desire to be forgive. Penance and repentance, similar in their derivation and original sense, have come to symbolize conflicting views of the essence of repentance, arising from the controversy as to the respective merits of "faith" and "good works".
