Only a handful of those on Neotellus knew of Bela's tribe. They weren't human, and of course they weren't gods or demons, either. Bela had been born from the rippling waves of the Shadow King's darkness, and she brought a unique presence to Neotellus. "I'm hungry," she thought. But she had no idea what to eat.

Name origin[]
Béla is a common Hungarian male given name; the meaning is "inner part, within; white". Its most likely etymology is from Old Hungarian bél ("heart, inside"; meaning "intestines" in modern Hungarian). Other possible sources are a Turkish word meaning "distinguished" and the Slavic word for "white".
