Men and beasts went mad as a great disaster descended upon the world, throwing it into disorder. The country Ansgar served had not escaped this madness. Some had staged an insurrection, burning the castle and slaughtering the soldiers. Ansgar searched this hellscape for any sign of the princess. He knew he should be protecting the people, but he would not hesitate to harm them if it meant saving the princess. He swore on his sword that he would carry out this mission.
