Angelic Matron Liddell

Lore[]

Few angels are summoned to the dwelling of the gods, and fewer still are those summoned as often as Liddell. It is undeniable proof of their confidence in her. She is the sole being tasked with the formation of new angels, and as such, her powers of creation are on par with any deity. One by one, she grants each newborn angel a downy pair of snow-white wings.

Name origin[]

Liddell is an Anglo-Saxon surname, Scottish and northern English, which is also found in forms such as Liddall, Liddel, Liddell, Liddle, Lidell, and Lydall. The meaning is "from the Hlyde valley; from the loud valley". The surname originated as a nickname for someone living in various places named Liddel in Cumberland and the Scottish Borders. Derived from the Old English river name Hlyde meaning "loud" and Old English doel "valley". Also can be a masculine name.

The word "matron" came into English in the 14th century with meaning "married woman" (usually one of rank) via French matrone "married woman; elderly lady; patroness; midwife". Derived directly from Latin matrona "married woman, wife, matron", with the root mater "mother". Nowadays it means: a married woman or a widow, especially a mother of dignity, mature age, and established social position; or a woman who acts as a supervisor or monitor in a public institution, such as a school, hospital, or prison.
