"You can't trust the gods." These were the missionary's very words. "Demons will grant your every desire if you simply pay the price." And he believed this with utmost certainty. He placed no stock in those aloof deities who made light of humans, bestowing upon them nothing but beautiful, vacuous words. He no longer had room in his heart for them. And thus the missionary turned to demons... believing with all his soul that this was for the benefit of humankind.
