Addis, exiled under suspicion of treason, was offered pardon from the king should she apologize. Even so, she chose to ignore it and left without a word. She loved her country more than anything and was raised strong and wise inside its borders, but they would rather deprive themselves of her talent than admit an ugly truth she brought to light. Vengeance involved no more than accepting their punishment.
