The giants must have planned the ambush to coincide with the time when the elves' energy was low. However, they had timed their strike just a bit too late. Light filled the eastern sky. Dawn broke, and sunlight poured into the forest. The elves bounced back to life, full of vigor. "Here we go!" Margaret called to all of her soldiers. Their voices joined together in a battle cry as they all rushed at the giants.
