(Steelplume) Conserving Phoenica

Phoenica, being largely secluded in the grotto, was unaware of the insurrection in her country until it was too late. Her husband had been murdered in a coup d'etat and the streets were filled with numerous factions vying to fill the power vacuum. She was reminded anew of her prevailing duty to the people and set out to reclaim the throne, however reluctant she was to leave her precious birds. It appeared they felt the same, for they also donned armor to fight by her side. Their bond mystified her treasonous enemies, allowing her to swiftly restore peace.
