Moca had been called unclean since she was young, as she was a descendant of the ferocious pirate king. She grew to detest her cursed lineage, since it was the only thing preventing her from living a normal life. Having been rejected by society, she felt that the only choice open to her was to, ironically, become a pirate.

Name origin[]
Captain Kidd (1645–1701) was a Scottish sailor who was tried and executed for piracy. The Mocha was a ship he had an encounter with.
