Erebus knew that it was the correct idea to extract the heart of Tik-Tok. He was now programmed to violently attack anyone that crossed his path. Once they stopped moving, he could continue on to the next person. Even if Tik-Tok caught sight of himself massacring all these people, he wouldn't be bothered by any troublesome guilt like a normal person. Really, Erebus was doing the poor robot a kindness.
