The witch's curse had come to pass. The princess pricked her finger on a spinning wheel's needle and fell into a deep, deathlike sleep. Everyone else in the kingdom suffered the same fate and the land became covered with thorns, all but forgotten. This was until a prince, led by some unknown guide, reached the castle. He instantly fell in love with the beautiful princess and kissed her red lips. She then woke up and told the prince about the witch. After he defeated her, they were soon wed, and roses once again bloomed across the kingdom.
