There are other reasons why the Spider Soldier sets up traps in the Quadling Forest besides catching prey. Wielding a sword that contains a peculiar poison, he barely scratches his enemies before releasing them again like nothing ever happened. The poison contained in the sword is not potent enough to see the prey to its death. Instead, the poison affects the minds of those who get scratched. Once the poison has spread throughout his prey's body, the soldier can manipulate them at will.
