Desert dwellers treasured each drop of water more than the most flawless diamond. That meant Bajiria, who had been granted the use of an entire oasis, was wealthier than any monarch. She had formed a contract with the fairies that resided within it in exchange for protecting their habitat. However, there was clearly more to the bargain, as it included a term that the fairies not rouse her anger. Every morning she smiled at her great fortune as she washed her long, flaxen hair.
