Even after he had become king, Beowulf continued to fight against the threats of humankind. It was a time when gods yet resided on land, humans were believed to be frail, and challenging a mighty dragon was tantamount to suicide. However, Beowulf accomplishing such an inconceivable feat well into his years proved the strength of man to all. His legacy may never truly fade, as he inspired many to take up his cause, giving birth to an untold number of legends and epic tales. Beowulf was truly the precursor to all heroic souls.

Beowulf (/ˈbeɪ.ɵwʊlf/; Old English: [ˈbeːo̯wʊlf]) is a legendary Geatish hero and later turned king in the epic poem named after him, one of the oldest surviving pieces of literature in the English language.
Beowulf is the conventional title of an Old English epic poem consisting of 3182 alliterative long lines, set in Scandinavia, the oldest surviving epic poem of Old English and thus commonly cited as one of the most important works of Anglo-Saxon literature, and also arguably the earliest vernacular English literature.
