Since becoming the chief of the Dusklands, Ashberry had witnessed the death of many. Her eyes reflected pity -- pity for the plight of her people. "Why must they suffer so?" Clearly there was no explanation other than the impoverished land. In her domain, food to fill the people's bellies, resources to create a true civilization, herbs to heal the sick, or the gold necessary to buy such things were all unattainable. The Dark Chief could feel nothing other than spite towards the barren continent her tribe inhabited.
