(Forgo) Kimesa, Red-Dyed Blackbird

Lore

Inscribing runes with the blood of a thousand lovers would grant one immortality. The raven avatar Kimesa, blessed with beauty but possessing a brief lifespan, sought to attain that goal, ignorant of the difficulty in doing so until she fell in love for the first time...

Acquisition

Added on October 14, 2016 to the Magnum Opus Card Pack.

Name origin

A raven is one of several larger-bodied members of the genus Corvus. They have black plumage and large beaks. There are many references to ravens in legends and literature, mostly in Greek, Celtic, Norse, Pacific Northwest, and Roman mythology. Because of its black plumage, croaking call, and diet of carrion, the raven has long been considered a bird of ill omen and of interest to creators of myths and legends. As a carrion bird, ravens became associated with the dead and with lost souls.
