The humans, who had grown prideful in their victories, needed to be taught the sensation of being hunted. They had not learned to be dissuaded from engaging in foolishness. Courtria was all too willing to show the ignorant their place in the world, and how ultimately feeble their own kind were against the ravages of nature. She instilled within them fear such that they would quail at the sight of an unkempt patch of weeds on the roadside.
