Hisame had only the falling snow to soothe her soul. Her father had been executed by a power-hungry shogun, and like many other ninjas, she had lost her place in a world that saw her as a threat to peace. She began to feel as if she were like the ephemeral crystals that melted upon her palm: born within a storm and vanishing in an instant. No matter how fervent her desire to resist, the flow of time was unforgiving.

Name origin[]
Hisame (氷雨) is a Japanese masculine and feminine name; translates as "chilly, cold rain", "hail" or "ice storm". Where 氷 (kōri) is "ice, hail" and 雨 (ame) is rain.
