Though white phoenixes are small and vulnerable at birth, fated to perish without protection, they gain the strength to wrest themselves from the binds of mortality should they reach adulthood. In order to improve their chances of survival, they reside within the body of a human, passing on a portion of their healing arts. Together with the newly endowed sage, they live and grow as one, forming an unbreakable bond.
