Clotho was one of the Moirai, goddesses of fate. The vines growing around their temple formed the threads which determined a human's lifespan. Length mattered little to her; some lived briefly but dedicated to a particular cause, while others lived considerably but full of empty experiences. She only prayed each soul used their time to find happiness and contentment.

In ancient Greek mythology, Clotho is the youngest goddess of the Three Fates. She spins the thread of human life, her sisters draw out and cut the thread.
