Though Orlok had attained immortality, his apprehension of death did not fade. He was yet vulnerable to the rays of the sun and weapons of silver, and so he further warped the terms of the goddess' contract. As a result, his body evolved to surpass those threats, but that too failed to achieve peace of mind. Unknown weaknesses, the supposed existence of even stronger beings, and other such things outside of his knowledge left him in never - ending dread that his invincible body would be proven to be otherwise.
