Uttering these final words, Meldt had dissolved away, carried off on the frosty winds. Melo's voice caught in her throat as she struggled to speak. "Thank...you..." she whispered, using the words Meldt had taught her. And as soon as they left her lips, she began sobbing in quiet agony, clutching the smelly necklace Meldt had left behind.
