Rutoi had transformed into a disgusting figure as a result of the cursed blades. Many of his relatives began undergoing similar transformations. It was a plague... To prevent it from spreading any further, Rutoi annihilated the very family he had put his life on the line to protect. Hating himself and the fact that he had become cursed, he returned to the ruins to find out what lay behind the curse. It was there that he learned the truth. To prevent others from making the same mistake he had, Rutoi stopped others from entering the ruins. He resolved to continue doing so until the day of his demise...
