This lion was not, for it had the horns of a goat, the wings of an eagle, and a snake for a tail. It was dubbed the Chimera, a one-of-a-kind creature that protected the heavenly realm.

Name origin[]
According to Greek mythology, the Chimera (Greek: "she-goat") was a monstrous fire-breathing hybrid creature, composed of the parts of more than one animal. It is usually depicted as a lion, with the head of a goat protruding from its back, and a tail that might end with a snake's head.
