Icerya returned to the Heavens and shattered it to pieces, their glistening fragments falling to Neotellus below like glass. The flapping of her wings sounded as ominous as the swing of a reaper's scythe. However, as she commenced the angicide, her countenance reflected a complete lack of emotion. There was no motivation behind her behavior. Acting in hatred was merely her reason for existence.

Icerya is a genus of scale insects in the family Monophlebidae. Species Icerya purchasi (common name: cottony cushion scale) is a scale insect that feeds on more than 50 families of woody plants, most notably on Citrus and Pittosporum; originates from Australia. Originally described in 1879 from specimens collected in New Zealand as pests of kangaroo acacia, it is now found worldwide where citrus crops are grown.
