As he sat on a mountain of corpses, gripping his sword, he knew there was none other. She was Ymir, whom Katise had said was the closest he had ever reached to creating "perfection." It came to Helzeo that if he could defeat her Katise would have no choice but to recognize him as "truly" perfect. As Helzeo drew his sword and faced her, Ymir readied her massive hammer, smiling all the while.
