Those who exhibited expertise in sorcery, knowledge of demons, and the working of miracles were selected by the previous generation's spellbinder to become the next bearer of the legacy. After conferring the ancient mission to the newly chosen, the aged one would ascend to the Heavens and observe as the new legend unfolded.
